Photos and Results From 2015 STRIDER World Championship

 Group Blog Smaller

Over 270 STRIDER Riders came out for the 2015 STRIDER World Championship at Main Street Square in Rapid City, SD! The 5th annual race had participants from Canada, China, Ecuador, Japan, Slovakia, and all over the US. It’s always fun to see international friendships rekindled as previous champions return to reclaim their title in the next age bracket. We also had a number of racers who had participated in one of the four 2015 STRIDER Championship Series races held in Florida, California, Pennsylvania, and Utah.

The weekend was full of family focused events and everyone had a great time despite high temperatures.

Friday night was a chance to get to know the lay out of the track and for last chance qualifiers. We capped Friday night off with the STRIDER Corporate Challenge! Eight local businesses had a blast racing the track in a relay. The best part? We raised $1,000 for Youth & Family Services and $1,000 for Black Hills Works.

Saturday was RACE DAY! Some riders were fast, some were slow, but smiles were out in abundance! It was another hot one and many of the racers took advantage of the water hazard for a quick (sometimes mid-race) cool-down! Abbey Road (a Beatles cover band) played in Main Street Square at 7pm. Many of the STRIDER Riders stayed to get rid of even more energy through some pretty amazing dancing skills.

Check out the social media links at the bottom of the page to make sure you don’t miss the2016  STRIDER Championship Series dates and locations when they’re announced! You should also head over to our Flickr Page to see some amazing photos of all the little racers:

Finallya huge shout out to all the families and STRIDER Riders that came out!

We also had a ton of support from some amazing sponsors: FedEx, Rapid City CVB, Scull Construction, Courtesy Subaru, Honey Stinger, Black Hills & Badlands, KIND Snacks, SCheels, Western Dakota Insurors, Ketel Thorstenson, Black Hills Power, Black Hills Urgent Care, Security First Bank, and Vast Broadband.

See you next year!

Results, and Photos from Strider Cup Lincoln presented by Raising Cane's!

LincolnOverview

I believe that I saw fire coming off of those tires on Saturday at the first stop of the 2016 Strider Cup in Lincoln Nebraska!

A big thank you for everyone who braved the heat and showed up at the Railyard in Lincoln to have a great time and race with their fellow Strider riders. The day was indeed warm but it was bearable (especially with ice cream nearby)! A total of 120 racers took part in the first ever Strider Cup race in Lincoln and champions were crowned in the 2, 3, 4 and 5 year old classes along with 3 special needs divisions. A total of 28 out of state racers made the journey from 9 states outside of Nebraska.

Also thanks goes out to our main Sponsor Raising Cane’s along with the Lincoln Convention and Visitor’s bureau, and the Railyard.

Speaking for the staff of Strider we had a wonderful time in Lincoln exploring the sites and the very cool Haymarket area, but most of all enjoyed race day along with the enthusiasm and stories that surrounded the Strider experience of those racers.

We’ve got some great photos posted on our Flickr page with more to come next week. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to catch all the latest STRIDER Happenings!

What a GREAT day of Strider Cup racing in Pittsburgh’s SouthSide Works!  None of those mighty two year olds seemed to be bothered by a bit of rain or puddles. Little legs strode over, through and around various obstacles – including some very sharp turns! We all learned that “turn here” to a toddler means they just might turn around and go back. And we also watched several toddlers jump the tire obstacles, rather than ride around them. We even witnessed a few victory dances.  We ended up with just over 150 registered racers! Happy, smiling faces received medals and trophies as champions were crowned in 2 and under, 3, 4, 5 year old, and special needs divisions. What a wonderful day of making new friends, riding, and racing!

Don’t forget, everyone who participated is welcome to attend the Strider Cup World Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah July 21st and July 22nd. We know some of you are already making plans. Be sure to book your hotel soon!

A huge thank you to all the racers, their families, and to our Title sponsor MedExpress, for the wonderful support and water. A big thanks also to Thick Bikes for the Free Strider Adventure Zone and to Eat’n Park Restaurants, DICK’S Sporting Goods, QDoba, and Amica Insurance. Finally, we’d like to thank Mayor Bill Peduto for joining us to congratulate the riders of the Special Needs race class.

We had a fantastic and memorable time in the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, and loved hearing the stories you shared about your child’s experience with Strider.  Thank you for the hospitality and LET’S GO PENS!

We’ve got our photos posted on our Flickr page. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to catch all the latest Strider Happenings!

Wow – that was one windy and hot afternoon in Lincoln, but none of that seemed to bother the 160+ racers. Little legs battled the wind and strode over, through and around various obstacles – including our cool mister, once that heat and humidity kicked in. We all learned that “turn here” to a toddler means they just might turn around and go back. And we also watched several toddlers jump the tire obstacles, rather than ride around them. We ended up with just over 170 registered racers, and it was wonderful to see several returning racers from 2016.

A huge thank you to all the racers, their families, and to our Title sponsor Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, for the wonderful support, lemonade and water. A big thanks also to SCHEELS for the Free Strider Adventure Zone and to Keller Williams, Black Hills Energy, Lincoln Children’s Museum, and FedEx. Thanks also to the Lincoln Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, as well as the City of Lincoln for their support! We had a fantastic time in Tower Square of Lincoln, Nebraska, and loved hearing the stories you shared about your child’s experience with their Strider bike.  Thank you for the hospitality and hope to see you in Salt Lake City!

What a fun day of STRIDER Championship Series Racing at the Station Square on June 6th; new friends were made, challenges were overcome, and smiles were abundant!

A big shout out goes to all the folks who participated and helped out in the recent race in Pittsburgh, PA! What a great day! Fabulous weather, great venue and tons of enthusiasm from everybody involved.

All of the STRIDER HQ staff that went out to Pittsburgh were amazed at the response and the great vibes that we got from everybody that we met. What a cool city too, with beautiful bike paths, a great bike community, and a neat bike rental system.

Also a big thanks to the fine folks at the Wheel Mill Bike Park for letting us do packet pickup there! While Taylor Swift didn’t make it over to see us on Saturday we still
rocked Station Square! : )

Another big shout out to FedEx for sponsoring the race in Pittsburgh and the upcoming race in Salt Lake City! A special thanks to KIND Snacks and Honey Stinger for the goodies in the swag bags!
