Systems Manager

LOCATION: Rapid City, SD

Strider needs a Systems Manager with a rich technical skillset. We are looking for a hands-on, solution-oriented individual who is happy to dive in and tackle projects that help the entire staff do their jobs more efficiently. These tasks might range from IT and network security to integrating and debugging third party software to scripting and automation.

Strider Sports International, Inc, is the South Dakota-based company behind the industry-leading, Strider Balance Bikes for toddlers, children and adults. Headquartered in Rapid City, SD this global company is seeking candidates who want to live and work in the amazing Black Hills. This position combines solid technical skills with a strong desire to understand Strider’s operating systems and to provide superior internal customer service. This position will be responsible for the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware and software, managing all aspects of Strider’s IT network and for providing technical and educational support to all users of the network and peripherals.

All interested applicants will possess experience with or knowledge of a combination of many of the following areas.

Essential Functions:

  • Purchasing, installing, monitoring and maintaining all computer hardware for the company
  • Managing and overseeing the company’s networks
  • Purchasing, installing and training employees to use company technology and software
  • Maintain records and reports of all computer activities such as backup and security functions
  • Administration of Office 365 licenses
  • Evaluating the functionality and efficiencies of systems
  • Designing maintenance procedures and put them into operation
  • Train and onboard new staff
  • Safeguard assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures as well as information security and control structures
  • Manage relationships and negotiate contracts with 3rd party vendors and consultants
  • Aid with project work and serve as a back up to the ERP manager
  • Experience building/deploying/managing networks and related services. (Cabling, Firewalls, WiFi, VPNs, DMZs)
  • Full-Stack Experience managing Windows domains and services for workstations/mobile devices
  • Data report and query development
  • Scripting experience (SQL is a huge bonus, or PowerShell/XSLT/Other)
  • Ability to manage a Windows+Linux environment

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Experience with EDI or product fulfillment software
  • Enterprise Resource Planning experience and implementation experience desired
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Being committed to an active lifestyle and exercise
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time using a phone, computer keyboard and monitor
  • Must be able to travel freely throughout the US and willing to occasionally assist after hour/weekend events

Location and Hours:

  • This position is in Rapid City, SD
  • Regular Office hours are Mon-Thurs 8 am to 5 pm and Fri 8:am to noon
  • Some travel and occasional support of weekend events should be anticipated


  • $45 to $70k depending upon experience
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position and qualifies for a full benefits package that includes paid time off, a 401K plan, health insurance and an extensive list of perks.
