Strider Cup races are the highest level national Strider sanctioned races that give small children a chance to put their Strider Balance Bike skills to the test at several stops across the USA and worldwide. These unique Strider organized and operated events cater directly to children 2-6 year olds who want to experience the thrill of racing. Children of all sizes and skill levels are welcome to participate. STRIDER No-Pedal Balance Bikes are developed for both learning the ropes of riding and honing advanced skills in racing. Strider Cup races typically culminate with our Strider Cup World Championship. In 2020 the World Championship will be held in Osaka, Japan on May 23rd and 24th.
This race is for Genuine STRIDER Bikes only. No other balance bike brands are allowed.

14x Open Class Races
Race times are subject to change based on registrations
Our Strider 14x balance bike class is an open class race for racers 3 to 6 year olds. If you are not familiar with the bike go Here and check it out. While the 14x bike has a Pedal Kit this race will be in balance bike mode only. See the rules link below for the 14x race rules. One big advantage of this particular racing class is that if your racer would like to race twice on race day there is that possibility. He/she could race once in the 3 or 4 year old class on a 12" Strider bike and then race again in the 14x Class with his/her own 14x bike. Two registrations would be required.
Online pre-registration is required for the 2, 3 and 4 year old classes and online registration ends at 8pm MST on Thursday, September 17th. There will be no registrations after that time or on race day.
The Strider 12 race classes will be open to children 2-4 years old. The Strider 14x Sport race class will be open to children ages 3-6 years old. If your little tater tot is 3 or 4 years old, they’re more than welcome to race on their Strider 12 Bike, and then race again in the 14-inch class on their Strider 14x bike. A second registration & fee would be required.

"Training wheels have been disrupted. Today, more children than ever are learning on balance bikes..."
"If you have a kid, or just live on planet earth near kids, you’ve seen a Strider Bike. It’s the super-fun looking balance bike with a low seat and no pedals..."
"Today, anyone who's serious about teaching a kid to ride at an early age will likely eschew training wheels in favor of a balance bike. "
Coined the “Tour de France for Toddlers” by major news outlets, Strider Cup races are a must-experience event for the entire family. You’ve never seen anything like a Strider Cup race, and children will never forget the fun and excitement these Strider-exclusive events provide.
Online pre-registration is required for the 2, 3 and 4 year old classes and online registration ends at 8:00pm on September 17th MST. There will be no registrations after that time or on race day.
Registrations for the 14x class can be made 1) online up until the above mentioned time 2) therafter only in person at the packet pickup on the Friday prior to race day or 3) race day up until 1 hour prior to the scheduled 14x race.
Only one racer is allowed to register per form. To register multiple racers repeat the registration process for each racer. If a racer is racing in both their age group (2,3 or 4 year olds) and in the 14x Class you will need to repeat registration process twice; once for each of the race classes.
Tickets purchased via Eventbrite will receive an email confirmation with a link to print your etickets from your computer. You may bring the printout of your tickets OR you may also have the confirmation email available.
All registrants will need to pick up their registration bags and go through a basic bike (Tech) inspection before being allowed to compete. Racers can do this either Friday, September 18th from 5:00pm-7:00pm or on race day up to 1 hour before the race. While Friday's Packet Pick-Up and Tech Inspection is not required, we strongly encourage it if possible as it gives us time to explain and discuss things in a calm non-rushed environment. Packet Pick-Up location is The Field House (connected to the ice skating ribbon) at Maggie Daley Park (337 E Randolf St Chicago, Il 60601).
During this Packet Pick-Up and a simple Tech Inspection, your child will receive their registration bag complete with a Strider jersey, assigned number plate, and other goodies. Your child’s bike will also be inspected to ensure compliance with our racing rules at this time. For more information regarding Tech Inspection please read the Tech Inspection Overview.
Any concerns will need to be addressed before your child can race. Friday Packet Pick-Up and Tech Inspection gives us the opportunity to address any issues in a calm, non-rushed atmosphere and inform you as to what to expect on race day. We would also like to inform you about important times as related to your race class, how the "HEATS" (1st Race) and "MAINS" (2nd Race) will work, and how the awards ceremony will flow.
Please review our Weather Policy for all Strider Cup Races.
