Huxley Fair Places 2nd in Children’s Bike Race

Children continued Strider Cup race series at Boulder Civic Area

BOULDER, CO (June 26, 2019) – 4-year-old Huxley Fair placed 2nd in his age group during the Strider Cup Race at Boulder Civic Area. Boulder was overrun by toddlers ages 19 months to 6 years old’s as they raced in the June 15th Boulder Strider Cup. Majestic mountains served as the backdrop as nearly 250 racers from around the world competed for the top trophy on Strider Balance Bikes. Full race results and images from the event can be found at striderbikes.com/events-boulder/

Huxley stated that his favorite part of Strider race day was, “racing with my friends”! The veteran Strider Racer has been competing since he was two years old at the Strider World Championship in Salt Lake City, UT in 2017. Huxley’s family thought it would be a one-time event, but he loves seeing his friends from across the country that race too, and he loves racing. Logan Fair acknowledged, “Because of Strider, Huxley has been on a pedal bike since he was two and a half and loves both bikes equally. He currently is racing Strider Events this year as well as the BMX League and Rattler Mountain Bike Series. The Strider Cups have led to his desire to race and have fun with friends on bikes!”

Toddlers tested their skills, dashing through the hanging pool noodles of the “Noodle Monster” and launching over “Mount Scary,” two ramps positioned back-to-back with smoke rising from a “lava-filled” crack in the center. The little racers whizzed though the track with a mix of determined stares and elated smiles. They were cheered on by friends, family members, and inquisitive pedestrians — all of whom were full of smiles watching the youngsters race.  Fair commented, “I am ecstatic that Strider holds these events across the country for kids to participate in. I’m amazed that cost is kept low (you get a ton of cool stuff), the staff is super friendly, and the venues are great!”

The remainder of the 2019 Strider Cup Series will continue in North America with balance bike races on July 6 at The Commons in downtown Minneapolis. From there, the North American race series will take a trip north of the border, hosting a Strider Cup in Surrey, British Columbia on August 17. The 2019 toddler bike racing season culminates at the Strider Cup World Championship in Charlotte, NC on October 5 and 6, 2019.
